Puget Sound Business Journal Names Revel Consulting Managing Partner One of Region’s Top “40 Under 40” Leaders

July 23, 2009

Brett Alston honored for business innovation and support for community organizations

40 under 40KIRKLAND, WA – Revel Consulting, a Kirkland, Washington based business and business management consulting firm, today announced that Co-Founder and Managing Partner Brett Alston was selected as one of the top “40 Under 40” leaders by the Puget Sound Business Journal. The distinguished award recognizes the region’s top young leaders for their success in business as well as their commitment to their community. Alston was chosen based on his leadership approach which has sparked Revel’s record growth as well as his dedication to charitable organizations in the region.

Alston, along with Joseph Sedmak and Vikas Kamran, co-founded Revel with the desire to reinvent the traditional “Big 4” consulting culture. They created what they call “Pure Consulting”, which reduces the layers of bureaucracy typically associated with large firms and instead provide their clients with direct, on-site senior industry experts to drive projects and achieve results. Critical to Revel’s success has been their ability to attract high caliber consultants by offering project variety, intellectual challenge, localized projects, work-life balance, and industry-leading compensation packages.

Before co-founding Revel, Alston had previously worked at Microsoft as a Product Manager and quickly advanced to the position of Director - Global Marketing Operations.

In the local community, Alston has led Revel’s efforts for himself and others to be actively involved in several community organizations. These efforts have included the planning and development of fundraising activities for both the Royal Family Kids Camp, who provides abused and neglected children summer camp opportunities, and Roses & Rosemary, an organization which works at prolonging and improving the health and quality of life for HIV-positive orphans.

“While it is an honor for me to be recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal, I accept it on behalf of my co-founders, our employees and on behalf of the organizations Revel serves,” said Alston. “We believe community involvement is a key piece of what makes Revel a great place to work, and we will continue to play an active role in lending our time, expertise and funding to help our communities.”

Alston and the other 2009 honorees will receive their awards at the Honoree Bash being held September 15, 2009 at the Seattle Repertory Theatre. For more information on the “40 under 40” visit: www.40under40seattle.com.
