Revel Lends Consulting Services in Support of Royal Family Kids’ Camps
The Foster Kids 5K Fun Run & Walk raises funds to support Royal Family Kids’ Camps (RFKC), a one-week summer camp for foster kids who have been victims of neglect or abuse. The goal is to provide these kids with a much needed fun and safe environment where they can participate in success-oriented activities such as horseback riding, arts & crafts, canoeing, and much more.
2010
2010 In its second consecutive year as a Gold sponsor, Revel contributed in a variety of ways to help event founders of the 2nd Annual Foster Kids 5K make sustainable improvements over last year’s event. As part of Revel’s Sustainable Giving program, a team of consultants provided expertise in Project Management, Marketing and Social Media to ensure that lessons learned were leveraged to make year over year improvements. Together, the team exceeded event goals, raising over $7,500 in proceeds and drawing more than 230 participants to the race – an increase of 88% and 130%, respectively, over last year’s numbers. The team’s effort will send many more kids to the one-week overnight summer camp for foster children.
2009
Beginning in June 2009, Revel put Sustainable Giving into action through our involvement in the Foster Kids 5K Fun Run & Walk when founders of the event approached Revel for monetary donations to support the cause. In turn, Revel not only made a monetary contribution but offered our Project Management and Marketing expertise as part of the Sustainable Giving program. In the three months leading up to the race, two Revel consultants met weekly with event founders to develop event strategy, define sponsorship levels, maximize community relationships, identify and mitigate event risks, and reduce internal costs by providing in-house marketing and design needs — all of which ultimately helped the organization reduce costs and raise more money to support local foster children. The key was to teach the event founder the skills needed to make their budget go further – giving a larger piece of each dollar back to the cause. The event proved a huge success, with more than 100 attendees and $4,000 in profits raised in the first year. Read more.
